THE REALITY CHECK

Why Most Angel Investors Fail

You're Flying Blind

Most first-time angels have:

  • No evaluation framework
  • No understanding of portfolio math
  • No network of experienced investors
  • Decisions driven by founder pedigree and FOMO

The Ecosystem Failed You

Current angel networks are:

  • Run by investment bankers, not founders
  • Focused on deal-pushing, not education
  • WhatsApp groups with zero structure
  • No shared evaluation language

You're Wasting Capital

Without the right approach:

  • 80% of angel investments fail
  • Most angels don't understand power law (1 winner must return entire portfolio)
  • You overpay, get diluted, make avoidable mistakes
  • Years of compounding knowledge lost

The Real Cost:
Not just ₹10-25L lost on bad bets. It's a question about decision-making, missed opportunities, and the inability to help founders you believe in.

"I wasted ₹15L on 3 angel investments before I understood portfolio math. If only I had this framework earlier." — Anonymous Angel Investor, Failed 3/5 Bets

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Do I need prior angel investing experience?

A: No. This cohort is designed for first-time angels. Experienced angels who want structured frameworks are also welcome. The only requirement is deployable capital (₹25L+) and willingness to learn.

Q: Will I get guaranteed deal access?

A: No. We don't sell deals. You'll evaluate live startups for practice (Weeks 4-6), but investing is always your choice. Post-cohort, you'll have alumni network access to co-investment opportunities through the Foundership ecosystem

Q: What if I can't attend a live session?

A: Sessions are recorded and shared within 24 hours. However, live participation is critical for IC discussions, case study debates, and networking. We recommend 80%+ attendance (5/6 sessions) to get full value and receive your certificate.

Q: Is this cohort only for Bangalore-based professionals?

A: No. The cohort is virtual, so participants from anywhere in India (or globally) can join. The graduation dinner in Week 6 is Bangalore-based but optional. Most sessions are designed for pan-India participation.

Q: How much capital should I have to deploy?

A: We recommend ₹25L-1Cr+ deployable over 3-5 years. This allows for 5-10 angel investments at ₹2.5-10L each. If you're below ₹25L, you may want to wait until you have more capital to deploy, as angel investing requires portfolio diversification.

Q: What's the refund policy?

A: Full refund if you drop before Week 1 Session 1 starts (February 15). No refunds after Week 1 begins, but you'll retain lifetime access to recordings and alumni network.

Q: Can I join if I'm not a CXO/Founder/Operator/Investment Professional?

A: Yes, as long as you have deployable capital (₹25L+) and risk appetite. We've had entrepreneurs, family office managers, VPs, and senior professionals (non-CXO) succeed in our programs. The key is commitment to learning and capital deployment.

Q: What is the Angel Concierge waitlist?

A: After Cohort 1, we'll launch a premium annual membership with:

  • Deal evaluation support (we do deep FS SEScore analysis for you)
  • Legal expert access (term sheet reviews, documentation)
  • Portfolio management (quarterly health checks)
  • Due diligence assistance (background checks, references)

Cohort 1 graduates get priority waitlist access. Pricing and full details will be announced in Q2 2026.

Q: Will there be more cohorts, if Im unable to join the current one?

A: Yes. There will be 3 Cohorts in a year. All Cohort participants get priority access to future events and programs.
